Southern Spoon Bread (video)

Ingredients
- 2C Milk
- 4 Tbsp butter
- 1 ¼ C white cornmeal
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 2–4 Tbsp butter, sliced thinly
Directions
Preheat oven to 450°. Heat milk and butter on stove until butter melts. Mix cornmeal, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Pour in half the milk mixture, mix, then add eggs and mix well. Add remaining milk and stir to combine. Pour into greased 1 ½ quart baking dish. Place thin slices of butter over top. Bake 18–20 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Serves 8.
