Helen’s Pear Bread

Ingredients

  • 3 pears (2 cups grated)
  • 3 eggs, beaten until light and fluffy
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon peel
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup nuts
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

Directions

Cream eggs, oil and sugar.

Add pears, lemon peel and vanilla. Mix well.

In an­other bowl, mix flour, salt, soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add nuts.

Blend egg mixture.

Pour into 2 greased and floured loaf pans.

Bake at 325° for 50 to 60 minutes.
