Aunt Myrtle’s Sweet Muffins

Ingredients
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1-4/5 cups self-rising flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
Cream shortening and sugar together, add egg, and beat well. Add buttermilk, flour, and vanilla. Beat again. Fill muffin cups and bake at 350 degrees until light brown, approximately 20-25 minutes.
