A western Kentucky native, Katherine has traveled the world as a freelance writer for 25 years, writing for such publications as Kentucky Living, The Lane Report, Group Travel Leader, Small Market Meetings, Keeneland magazine, Kentucky Homes & Gardens, Charleston Home, and Kentucky Monthly. A certified writing coach, she has written catalogue essays for art and photography exhibits, and her short stories have appeared in Short Story America, Volumes 2 and 5; Kudzu literary journal, and Post Scripts: A Keeneland Anthology. Katherine teaches memoir, travel, and nature writing in the University of South Carolina Beaufort’s OLLI Continuing Ed program, and at Palm Key and Thera Vista retreat centers in South Carolina.
A University of Kentucky graduate, she was Joseph-Beth Booksellers’ first director of promotions, a literary critic for the Lexington Herald-Leader, and a Thoroughbred racehorse exercise rider. Katherine’s in-progress novel is One to Go: An Equine Thriller.
