Muhammad Ali Center Re-Opens to the Public on Thursday, April 1st
Temporary Exhibit Truth Be Told Extended Through February 27th, 2022
LOUISVILLE, KY (March 29, 2021) – The Muhammad Ali Center will be re-opening to the public Thursday, April 1st, following a 3-1/2 month temporary closure due to the COVID19 pandemic. Hours of operation for visitors, including its retail store, will be from 12:00 noon – 5:00 p.m. EDT, Wednesdays through Sundays. The Ali Center will be open in time for Jefferson County Public Schools’ spring break.
The Ali Center is also extending its new temporary exhibit Truth Be Told: The Policies that Impacted Black Lives through February 27th, 2022. Truth Be Told was created in response to the heightened calls for racial justice which began last summer. The exhibit features authentic plywood panels and street art used on buildings in the Louisville protests as a backdrop on which to share the historical accounts of Black history in America often left out of, misinterpreted, or falsified in our history books.
Visitors are encouraged to purchase admission tickets online in advance to minimize person-to-person contact, but on-site tickets are also available. Health and Safety Guidelines for the public will remain in place, including face mask requirements, temperature checks upon admission, and limited capacity.
In observance of the Easter Holiday, the Ali Center will be closed Sunday, April 4th, but will re-open to the public on Wednesday, April 7th.
