Midway restaurant up for a prestigious dining award

Holly Hill Inn, the flagship restaurant of Chef Ouita Michel, an eight-time James Beard Award semifinalist, opened its doors in 2001. Located in a rural inn dating back to the 1800s, the fine dining establishment is renowned for its menu featuring locally sourced ingredients and Southern hospitality. Holly Hill Inn is competing against 16 other restaurants nationwide for just that, “Outstanding Hospitality”. Finalists will be announced in April, with winners revealed at an awards ceremony in June in Chicago.

Chef Michel operates several other establishments in Kentucky and Lexington, including Wallace Station, Windy Corner, Honeywood, Smithtown Seafood, and Zim’s Café, as well as a bakery (Midway Bakery), a cocktail bar (The Thirsty Fox), and a special events division at Fasig Tipton. She was last nominated for a James Beard Award in 2022 as a semifinalist for Best Chef: Southeast.
