Celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary along the Kentucky Americana Triangle
As the new year begins, plans are being made across this great nation to commemorate the semiquincentennial in 2026. There’s a great slice of Americana right here in Kentucky, a little corner of the world from Bowling Green to Paducah to Owensboro where “Quilts, Cars and Guitars” are in the spotlight every day.
Discover the Kentucky Americana Triangle, and immerse yourself in the people, places, products and traditions that are part of this great American story. From the home of America’s sports car to the center of American quilting to the birthplace of Bluegrass music, visitors along the Kentucky Americana Triangle will find themselves immersed in material collections reflective of our country’s cultural landscape.
This themed road trip also includes nods to significant people and places with nature-based excursions to the country’s second-oldest tourist attraction, Mammoth Cave National Park, and the surrounding recreational opportunities in Edmonson County. Then it’s off to Henderson, where the John James Audubon State Park Museum & Nature Center delves into this Birds of America artist and his time spent in Kentucky.
Designed for tour groups with customized itinerary assistance and behind-the-scenes opportunities, the Kentucky Americana Triangle is also perfect for families looking for special activities to mark the occasion in the years ahead. America250 events in each community will be listed on the website, and other promotions will be announced over the coming months.
