THE BOBBY DRIVER SCHOLARSHIP PRESENTS ALEX NAPIER AND DAYBREAK

The 15th “Singing for Scholarships” honoring the memory of Bobby Driver will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the historic Plaza Theatre. This year’s theme is “Music for Everyone” and features musical entertainment from the band, Alex Napier & Daybreak. Among their members of seasoned musicians include their leader, vocalist/lead guitarist Alex Napier from Edmonton KY, an independent singer, songwriter and musician; “just” bassist David Meredith, and drummer Giles Junior. Each with their own list of accolades and accomplishments in the local music scene and beyond, the three emerged a steady lineup in early 2021. Alex, along with his band, delivers high energy showmanship with their very own blend of oldie, country, rock and blues. They are living and playing venues, parties, and restaurants all over the Panama City area. The Scottie Singers who is the flagship choral ensemble at Glasgow High School, receiving many accolades, one of which includes being named the National Beta Show Choir Champions for 2023 will be starting the showoff. Local performers Jeff Bruce, Sam Day Dickinson, Brighton and Byron Lucas, and Brian Pack will salute one of the most influential acts of the rock era, The Beach Boy’s, distinguished by their vocal harmonies, adolescent-themed lyrics, and musical ingenuity. The night will feature instrumental and vocal songs, having a healthy mix of original material and cover songs with the versatility to fit the need of any venue.
