The cooperative spirit
Continued support for tornado ravaged communities
FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE not affected by the tornadoes that roared through Kentucky in December, the update on relief efforts might seem outdated.
But, as we pledged earlier this year, we continue to pay attention to and support what we know to be a long, arduous and complicated effort to restore and rebuild the affected communities.
People in the path of the deadly storm know the reality of the recovery process far too well.
Kentucky’s electric cooperatives are so gratified for the support of our fellow cooperatives, both within the commonwealth and across the country. Just as Kentucky co-ops step up to help when disasters strike our counterparts in other states, such as hurricanes in the Southeast, cooperatives and co-op organizations across the country reached out to me with very generous contributions and donations.
We thank our cooperative family and salute the cooperative members and staff who continued to restore power and assist communities even when their own homes and lives were upended.
Please stay safe and know that the cooperative spirit thrives in Kentucky.
