Beautify the Bluegrass is adapting too
Last month, Kentucky Electric Cooperatives rolled out the 2020 “Beautify the Bluegrass” initiative, partnering with Governor Andy Beshear. Since then, a lot has changed.
As the unprecedented implications of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to impact our lives, the Beautify the Bluegrass initiative is not immune.
Without gathering as groups, this can still be a fun project for you or your family.
The Beautify the Bluegrass goal remains the same: Kentuckians across the commonwealth spending a little time outdoors “beautifying” an area. Many of you are already doing this.
Would you or your family consider doing a mini-makeover in your neighborhood or at your house?
Without gathering—Gov. Beshear says, “Please don’t do that.”—perhaps you can come up with a plan where neighbors can work alone, but as a joint effort, to benefit your neighborhood or a nearby park.
Or, have family members come up with a fun, home landscaping project that will brighten your neighborhood.
The possibilities are endless, even while respecting social distancing guidelines.

Our plan is the same, to honor three winners at the Kentucky State Fair on August 27 during Kentucky Living’s live 2020 Best in Kentucky Awards.
