Scuba Santa at Newport
Scuba Santa’s Water Wonderland will surface in northern Kentucky at the Newport Aquarium, November 26-January 2. Scuba Santa and his underwater sleigh delight visitors young and old. Take part in the Reindeer Roundup game by spotting all the reindeer hidden throughout the aquarium. Admission included with your Newport Aquarium ticket. Season’s dreamings
Cirque Dreams Holidaze, a spectacular tribute to the holiday season, comes to the Louisville Palace on November 23-28. Created and directed by Neil Goldberg, this new musical extravaganza features an international cast of acrobats, aerialists, singers, dancers, and musicians. Marvel as ornaments come to life, toy soldiers march on thin wires, gingerbread men flip through the air, and performers dangle from a 24-foot-tall magical tree. Festival of Trees
The Butler County Education Preservation Society’s third annual Festival of Trees celebrates the holiday spirit, November 29-December 11. Businesses, schools, families, and organizations create uniquely decorated trees that are displayed at the Butler County education complex, 799 Veterans Way, in Morgantown. One of last year’s trees, left, features more than 1,000 origami cranes made by fifth-graders at North Butler Elementary School. Admission: $1, under 12, free. Call (270) 934-2373 for details.
Winter Wonderland
Owensboro’s Winter Wonderland comes to RiverPark Center on November 26-January 2. This festival includes an enormous Christmas tree at the outdoor skating rink, a giant screen playing favorite holiday movies, thousands of twinkling lights, refreshments, caroling, carnival rides, and visits from Santa Claus.
