KaLightoscope Christmas
Create special memories with your family and friends during Christmas at the Galt House Hotel, 140 Fourth Street, Louisville, now through January 2. KaLightoscope Christmas, the main attraction, will showcase interactive, lighted sculptures, with a discovery around every corner. Stroll through the charming new Christmas Village. Also new for 2011 is the magical Snow Fairy Castle, where children can wander into the Wish Room and write down their Christmas wishes for the Snow Fairy Princess. White Hall Christmas
Visit White Hall State Historic Site in Richmond for A Victorian Christmas. See the mansion decked for the holidays and learn about how the Victorians celebrated Christmas. This is a special, self-guided tour with light refreshments at the end. Tours: December 2-3 and December 9-10, 6-8 p.m. Ticket prices: $7 adults, $4 children 6-12, free for 5 and under. Winter Wonderland of Lights
Ashland’s Central Park will be ablaze now through January 5 for its Winter Wonderland of Lights. Stroll through the 52-acre park glowing with 65 magical holiday displays containing more than 800,000 lights. Take the kids on the Winter Wonderland Express train ($3 per person). Victorian Adsmore
Celebrate a Victorian Christmas at Adsmore, a stately Victorian home at 304 N. Jefferson St. in Princeton. This special tour is set in 1901. Guests will see stockings hung on the mantel, the dining table set for a feast, and the magnificent tree in the parlor. The house is furnished with the personal belongings of the Smith-Garrett family.
