Evening With Authors, Readers, & Chefs
A unique fund-raising event called “Authors, Readers, & Chefs” will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 7-9 p.m. at the Downtown Arts Center, 141 E. Main Street, Lexington, to benefit Arc of the Bluegrass Inc.
Attendees can chat with authors in a cozy atmosphere, listen as authors read from their books, and sample foods by area chefs.
In its fourth year, the event will feature Kentucky authors and readings by Dr. Thomas D. Clark, The People’s House: Governor’s Mansions of Kentucky, Bobbie Ann Mason, Elvis, Marcia Jones, co-author of The Bailey Kids children’s book series, Colonel Michael Masters, Hospitality, Kentucky Style, and Paul Brett Johnson, Little Bunny Foo Foo.
Chefs from Café on Main, Three Suns Bistro, Yamamoto, Durango’s, and Magee’s Bakery will be serving delectable foods.
The event will also feature wine provided by Chrisman Mill Winery, a Maker’s Mark Bourbon tasting, silent auction including a signed and framed James Archambeault print and original art by Minds Wide Open artists, a harpist, commemorative wine labels, and authors’ book signings.
Tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple. Arc of the Bluegrass is a not-for-profit organization providing alternative vocational and rehabilitation programs, including housing, Minds Wide Open art center, a literacy program, and classes for adults with mild to severe developmental disabilities.
