Summer Salute is a free three-day festival of local, regional, and national music in downtown Hopkinsville. 100 vendors, free rides, and extra attractions. Country music’s Tracy Lawrence headlines Saturday evening.
Dawson Springs plans live bands, family entertainment, educational sessions, food vendors, and arts and crafts.
Oak Grove is touting the Total Solar Eclipse Experience. Free festivities include a Saturday concert and laser light show featuring American Floyd, a Sunday kids fun day, and eclipse viewing at the Viceroy Performing Arts Center.
In Russellville, the Logan County Public Library has teamed up with the Kentucky Science Center for an eclipse day event with speakers, crafts, and family activities.
Benton plans eclipse viewing at both the Environmental Education and Recreation Area and Benton City Park. Activities include live entertainment, a 5K, cornhole tournament, and swimming at pool.
SolQuest, a three-day Christian eclipse festival, is planned at the Ginn family farm in Princeton, just over two miles north from the Orchardale farm. It includes food, live music, and a 5K run.
$5 per carload admission for the Total Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at the Franklin Drive-In. Telescopes will be set up for close-up viewing and cell phone photography. There will be projection of the eclipse onto a large screen, narrated by telescope operator.
Paducah plans a weekend of eclipse events and prime viewing locations at the newly expanded Paducah Riverfront and extended Schultz Park and the new Fountain Avenue Health Park.
In Lyon County, Lake Barkley plans Eclipsearoo 2017, with music, food, spirits, and boat trips. Lodging and camping sites are available.
At Land Between the Lakes, the Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory also plans a three-day event.
