Butterfly Fantasy
Oak Grove’s 4th Annual Butterfly Festival holds fun and fantasy for the whole family. Visit live butterflies in their habitat in Butterfly House or beautiful Butterfly Garden. Enjoy the bubble zone, the monster mural, and new stage shows this year. The event at War Memorial Walking Trail concludes with a live butterfly release of 800 butterflies. Bardstown and Bourbon
The Kentucky Bourbon Festival, September 11-16, is six days of smooth bourbon, delicious food, and great entertainment. From black tie galas to historical tours, there is something for all ages and interests. HarvestFest at Shaker Village
Welcome the bounty of fall with a down-home harvest celebration, Saturday and Sunday, September 29-30, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg. Shop the farmers’ market or enter the dessert contest, kids can climb haystacks, bob for apples, and meet animals on the farm, enjoy live music, and more. September 11, 2001: A Global Moment
The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green presents a special exhibit exploring the global, personal, and historical significance of September 11, 2001. This exhibition includes more than 150 rare and important artifacts, images, and films from the World Trade Center after its destruction, a timeline that traces the events of the day, and personal stories about everyday life and the aftermath.
