Art In Bloom 2009

The Friends of the ART MUSEUM at the University of Kentucky will host their premier fund-raiser, Art in Bloom 2009, on February 27, 28, and March 1.

This is the ninth year for this three-day event, which showcases more than 50 floral arrangements created by professional and amateur designers interpreting works of art from the museum’s permanent collection and the new exhibition Jasper Johns and Robert Motherwell: Poetic Works as Metaphor. This year’s event will honor Ms. Judy Wells of Versailles for her longtime support of the museum and will celebrate the artwork of Winchester artist Anna Laura Codell.

The public is invited to visit Art in Bloom for $5 beginning Friday, February 27, continuing through Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The public is also invited to a Conversation with the Designers event at 2 p.m. on Sunday, included with admission.

Fund-raising events begin Friday night at 6 p.m. with a Black Tie Sponsor Gala and Live Auction and continue on Saturday, February 28, at 7 p.m. with a Reception and Silent Auction, including heavy hors d’oeuvres and live music. The Live Auction offers exciting vacation trips and exquisite works of art.

Gala Sponsorship Packages for the Friday Black Tie event begin at $500. Tickets for Saturday night’s Reception and Silent Auction are $150 for patrons, $100 per person, or $60 for the “under forty” crowd.
