A Day For Students In Frankfort

Gov. Steve Beshear stands outside the state Capitol to address 110 high school students from electric co-ops around Kentucky in April as part of the 2014 Kentucky Rural Electric Frankfort Youth Tour. Hosted by the 18 sponsoring electric co-ops and coordinated by the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives, the event included a tour of the Capitol and the Kentucky Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Others meeting with the group included State Auditor Adam Edelen, Col. Jerry Cecil, United States Army (retired), and Megan Cummins of the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority. An especially popular speaker heard by the group was State Rep. Brian Linder of Dry Ridge, since he’s a former employee of Owen Electric Co-op in northern Kentucky. Photo: Tammy Simmons
