Ingredients
- 3⁄4 tsp seasoning salt
- 1⁄2 tsp black pepper
- 1⁄2 tsp garlic powder
- 4 thin-cut, bone-in pork chops
- 1 C flour
- 2 to 3 tsp dried onion flakes
- Lard or vegetable oil
- Gravy
- 1⁄2 tsp seasoning salt
- 1⁄2 to 1 tsp ground pepper
- 1 C water or milk
Directions
Combine salt, pepper and garlic powder and sprinkle on both sides of the pork chops. Combine flour and onion flakes on a plate. Coat pork chops on both sides with flour. Heat 2 tablespoons of lard or vegetable oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Cook pork chops on both sides, about 7 minutes each. Remove and keep warm.
To make gravy: add 2 tablespoons of the flour to the pan along with salt and pepper. Stir to blend, then add water or milk to the flour, a little at a time, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and serve over pork chops.
